Description:
An interesting object. The Digital Sky Survey image shows two galaxies in
apparent contact. The object to the E. is aligned NW-SE while the one to
the W. is aligned N-S. IC694 is located just to the NW. NGC3690 was visible
with averted vision at 77x and appeared as an irregular wedge shaped
nebulosity, aligned nearly E-W. The W. end was both wider and brighter while
it narrowed and became fainter to the E.. During moments of steady seeing,
there seemed to be slight brightening toward the core of the portion located
to the W. It bore magnification well without resolving into individual
components. IC694 could not be identified. Best seen at 128x-257x.
