Description:
At Dan's request, we swung the Club 17" over to the weird little
Intergalactic Wanderer for a last Spring-time look, as it begins
to disappear in the West. As expected, the IW showed up best at
the higher powers tonight, despite a fairly low altitude (45o).
At low power, it was visible as a small, featureless smudge to
averted vision. At intermediate power, a hint of the irregular
shape of this object was apaprent, but only to averted vision.
--
At its best, N2419 showed its strange, irregularly shaped halo,
along with a very diffuse, also amorphously shaped core nestled
off-center within it. But to achieve this view, the nearby mag.
7 field star had to be carefully nudged out of the view, while
still keeping the GC as near center as possible. No stars were
even intermittently resolved in the glob, at any magnification.

[Oops! We forgot to log the pretty nearby carbon star tonight!]

to find this intriguing little "extragalactic" globular cluster!
