(IAAC) Double star miscellany

Your skill:intermediate
Date and UT of observation:Sept 22 1997 22.00 UT
Location & latitude:near Ayr South West Scotland lat 55 24'56"
Site classification:bright rural
Limiting magnitude (visual):6 (zenith)
Seeing (1 to 5 - best to worst):6 worst I have ever seen (Jupiter was boiling)
Moon up (phase?):rising gibbous
Instrument:20" f4.4 Dobsonian
Magnification:X86, X150
Filters used:None
Objects:Asterism near gamma Aquilla
Object data:mag
RA/DE: RA 19 42.5 Dec 10 25'
The beautiful orange/yellow star gamma Aquilla has, about 10' east, a
strange and beautiful s shaped line of five stars, the brightest second down
the line is orange in colour. I don't know if there is any real connection
between the stars or if it is a chance association but it is a telescopic
curiosity well worth examining.
Objects:Double star gamma Delphini
Category:Double star
Object data:mag 4
RA/DE: RA 20hr 44.4' Dec 15 57'
A very nice pair of yellow stars published magnitude 4.0,5.0
Objects:Triple star OSigma 525
Category:Triple star
Object data:mag 5.1
RA/DE: RA18 51.9 Dec 33 52'
A glorious pair of a brighter, 5.1, orange and fainter, 7.1, blue star, like
a fainter beta Cygni. The magnitude 5.1 stars has magnitude 10 companion
1.22" away (position angle 131deg.) but the seeing was far too poor to see it.
Finding The star forms the north vertex of a nearly equilateral triangle
with beta and gamma Lyrae.
Instrument:naked eye
Filters used:UHC
Objects:NGC 7000, North America nebula
Category:diffuse gaseous nebula
Object data:size 100'X120'
RA/DE: RA 20 57' Dec 44 08'
Observing before moonrise, I looked, with my naked eye, at the North America
nebula through the UHC filter.
The nebula showed up very clearly as an irregular light cloud, a rather
blurred version of the nebulosity familiar from so many photographs.
