Re: (IAAC) Obj: Alpha Libra(Zubenelgenubi), M5, M4 - Inst: 10x50 binoculars

Dear Lew,
The limiting magnitude I give belong to the part of the sky near the object.
Near my house, there are many streetlights. The objects I observed were
close to the streetlight so the limiting magnitude I wrote were low. I can
see about 5th magnitude stars from my house with naked eye if the star is
well away from streetlights. M22 seemed much birghter than M5 to me although
it is closer to horizon. However; some of the streetlights were off so the
sky was much darker. So I can achieve dark skies but of course the
conditions are incomperable to that of rural areas.
The seperation between the members of alpha Lib is so much that it is hard
to believe it is actually a binary star.
Clear skies,
Erhan Ozturk
